We’ve long touted the sustainable, eco-friendly credentials of Kornit Digital’s inks and on-demand production process. Answering the call for a more responsible textile industry is one of our core purposes, and it is one we strive to honor in our daily lives, as well. That is why Kornit is participating in the “Climate Forest” afforestation project.
The “Climate Forest” is an urban tree-planting project led by the Good Energy Initiative, a Climate Changing Social Enterprise NGO that has been operating since 2006. As Kornit Digital works with textile companies worldwide to make the earth a cleaner and more hospitable habitat, we are proud to join this project put our values to work in our own communities.
On average, one tree soaks up 750kg of carbon dioxide during its lifetime, lowers the temperature in its vicinity, filters air pollutants, serves as a habitat for a variety of plants and animals, and adds to the rich beauty of our landscape. We’re committed to planting as many new trees in our remote townships across, overlooked public spaces to revitalize our neighborhoods, improve their air and water quality, and make them a more attractive place in which to live. This is our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.
The “Climate Forest” project strives to return life to these areas by building a native ecosystem based on the abundance of trees. It encourages these municipalities to enrich their planted areas and create healthy ecosystems by adding native bushes, beneficial perrenials, and pollinating flowers. Among the benefits:
